What is the Indian/Sri Lankan Support Group?

The Indian Sri  Lankan Support Group provides support to frail aged people of Indian or Sri Lankan background and their carers through a program of planned activities and support.

The program aims to increase the social networks of people by providing an opportunity for the Indian and Sri Lankan group members to interact socially with each other through a program of activities.

Activities may include things such as games, gardening, craft, cooking, videos , and guest speakers providing information on topics such as health, councils, recreational opportunities and income support. The group may also organise outings and recreational activities.

Who Can Access the Program?

The Indian-Sri Lankan Support Program is accessible to people of Indian and Sri Lankan background who reside in the Western Region of Melbourne and who are assessed as eligible for HACC services. (In general people who are frail, aged and /or have a disability).

Volunteers who wish to assist in the running of the program and support are also very welcome.
