The Committee of Management is the governing arm of the Migrant Resource Centre North West Region.
Its primary responsibilities are the governance and strategic direction of the MRC NWR,
ensuring that all contractual, financial, and legal obligations are met.

Chairperson
Chairperson, Committee of Management – Migrant Resource Centre North West Region
Hakki Suleyman is a dedicated community leader with over 40 years of active service supporting multicultural communities across Melbourne’s North West. Since the 1970s, he has driven initiatives that promote community settlement, employment opportunities, and social cohesion. His career includes work for both state and federal members of parliament.
A respected figure within the Turkish and broader multicultural communities, Hakki has played a pivotal role in establishing cultural institutions and volunteer community organizations. As a longstanding member of the Committee of Management since 1992, Hakki has contributed to the organization’s growth from a small settlement service to a thriving multi-program agency employing over 40 staff. His strategic insight, grassroots credibility, and extensive networks across faith groups, sporting clubs, and ethnic communities have strengthened partnerships and positioned the organization for long-term impact.
Hakki is also a broadcaster and convener of community language programs and has volunteered with Radio 3ZZZ. He was awarded Victoria’s Award for Excellence in Multicultural Affairs for “Meritorious Service in the Community” and received a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of voluntary service during the International Year of Volunteers 2001. His work has been instrumental in providing support and wellbeing for refugees and new settlers in Australia.
Troy Atanasovski

Troy Atanasovski migrated to Australia from Macedonia over thirty years ago and is deeply committed to supporting and celebrating the Macedonian community. His journey reflects the broader history of Macedonians settling in Victoria, beginning in the early 20th century and continuing through waves of migration driven by economic and political changes.
With many years of volunteering in Melbourne’s North Western suburbs, Troy is passionate about providing services that celebrate cultural diversity and promote migrant support. He values the importance of maintaining heritage while fostering community integration.
As Vice President of the Committee of Management, Troy has witnessed the organization’s growth into a vibrant hub that enhances community life and cultural pride. He is proud to serve, contributing his experience and dedication to strengthening multicultural engagement.
Daniel Wallace
Treasurer
Treasurer, Committee of Management – Migrant Resource Centre North West Region
Dan Wallace is a highly respected financial and technical leader with over seventy years of experience spanning defence, computing, telecommunications, and community development. He joined the Committee of Management in 1999 and has served as Treasurer since 2005. Under his stewardship, the organization’s annual budget has grown from $200,000 to a multi-service portfolio valued at over $5 million.
Dan’s extensive background includes senior management roles at global technology firms and public sector institutions such as the State Bank of Victoria and Telstra. His expertise in systems thinking, financial management, and strategic planning has been vital to the organization’s expansion and diversification.
A committed volunteer, Dan has held leadership positions with the Lions Club, the Anglo-Indian Association, and is a member of the Australian Institute of Management and the Australian Computer Society. He has played a key role in implementing new technologies, ensuring compliance, and fostering continuous improvement. His integrity, precision, and dedication make him an invaluable asset in advancing funding partnerships, innovative care models, and organizational sustainability.

Minh Huu Lam
Committee Member
Member, Committee of Management – Migrant Resource Centre North West Region
Minh Huu Lam is a dedicated chiropractor with a strong focus on healthcare and community service. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Applied Science, Diploma of Acupuncture, and Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Melbourne University. Minh has also been involved in aged care management through Mekong Vietnamese Aged Care.
As a committed Committee member, Minh brings valuable expertise in healthcare and community wellbeing, driven by a passion to serve and support the community. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys exploring music and traveling.
His experience and dedication help advance the organization’s goal of improving community health and social inclusion.
Joe Caf

Joe Caf has been a dedicated member of the MRC since 1989, serving as the Slovenian representative on the Committee of Management. He arrived in Australia in 1959 at age 20, seeking better opportunities after leaving Slovenia. His early years were challenging, but he embraced Australia's freedoms and community spirit.
With a background as a builder and carpenter, Joe worked for 36 years before retiring. He remains active in the Slovenian community, including serving as president of the Slovenian Sports Association.
Joe believes that multiculturalism thrives through collective effort and community support, and he is passionate about working together to improve lives through shared initiatives.
Nicholas Tribe

Acting Secretary, Committee of Management – Migrant Resource Centre North West Region
Nicholas Tribe is a dedicated Secretary of the Committee of Management with a strong background in management within the banking and finance sectors. His expertise includes leadership, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving, complemented by extensive experience serving on not-for-profit boards.
Nicholas is passionate about supporting vulnerable populations in Melbourne’s western suburbs. He holds several certificates in business and is actively involved in community initiatives aimed at creating meaningful change.
Outside his professional commitments, Nicholas enjoys traveling and exploring new places. His skills, experience, and genuine dedication make him a vital contributor to the organization’s mission to serve and empower the community.
Sam David

Member, Committee of Management – Migrant Resource Centre North West Region
Sam David is a long-standing member of the Committee of Management, bringing over 60 years of community involvement and leadership. A former Mayor, he has held key roles such as Vice President of the West Sunshine Multicultural Senior Citizens Group and the West Sunshine Greek Senior Citizens Group. He is also a life member of the Victorian Soccer Federation and local soccer clubs.
A passionate advocate for diversity and active youth engagement through sports, Sam believes in fostering community cohesion and citizenship. His education includes completing a four-year course at R.M.I.T., earning a Real Estate Certificate.
As a proud member of the Australian Labor Party and life member of numerous community and sporting organizations, Sam enjoys music, sports, and community connection. His extensive experience and dedication make him a vital contributor to the organization’s community development and inclusion initiatives.
Antipas Apak Kot Kooc
Committee Member
Antipas Apak Kot Kooc brings extensive experience from both local and international contexts, serving as a committed member of the Committee of Management. His background includes roles such as executive officer in local government, teacher, program director, and settlement case manager.
He is highly organized with strong communication skills and is known for his friendly, compassionate, and reliable approach. Antipas actively participates in community service through memberships in the Sudanese Community and Angleton Church.
Educationally, he holds a Diploma of Community Services (Welfare) and a Bachelor of Laws, reflecting his commitment to social justice and community development. Passionate about fostering social inclusion, Antipas is dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations and promoting community wellbeing.
In his personal time, he enjoys watching TV and socializing with friends and family. His diverse experience and dedication are valuable assets to the organization’s efforts.
