Mr. Haileluel Gebre-Selassie - Executive Officer
Haileluel Gebre-selassie OAM is an experienced Executive Officer at the North Western Migrant Resource Centre and a highly respected leader in strategic partnerships, governance, and community and business leadership. He brings extensive senior experience across government, higher education, the not-for-profit sector, and grassroots organisations. Haileluel has served on several boards and played a key leadership role in the establishment of the Blue Nile Business Masterclass at the University of Melbourne. His outstanding contributions to diversity, inclusion, and community capacity-building have been widely recognised through numerous honours, including a Winston Churchill Fellowship, the Melbourne Award, Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence, and the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM).
Mr. Salman Ahmed RTO Learning Centre (Training and Compliance Team Leader)
Salman has led the Training and Compliance team in the VET sector, working across independent RTOs, private colleges, and community training providers. With years of experience, Salman has built and managed systems that ensure RTOs remain compliant and audit-ready while maintaining a strong focus on delivering a quality learning experience for students. Their work encompasses compliance, reporting, internal audits, validation, and ensuring trainer and assessor files are current and well-organized. Salman leverages data, student feedback, completion rates, audit outcomes, and quality indicators to drive meaningful improvements, aiming to go beyond minimum requirements and foster continuous enhancement in training quality.
Ms. Betty Huang - SETS Client Services Team Leader
Betty Huang is the SETS Team Leader, working with a dedicated and passionate team to support clients and communities who are newly arrived in Australia. Through close cooperation and collaboration, her team achieves meaningful outcomes by providing guidance, resources, and a welcoming environment that empowers individuals to settle confidently, access opportunities, and build strong connections in their new home. Betty's greatest motivation is understanding the unique needs of her clients and ensuring they feel supported every step of the way. Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, sharing meals with family and friends, shopping for clothes and shoes, and relaxing with movies or TV series—particularly love stories and comedies.
Mrs. Zeinab Hussein - Aged and Disability Services Team Leader
Zeinab is a seasoned community services leader with over 30 years of experience across aged care, disability, grassroots development, and change management. She has spearheaded inclusive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed models of care, ensuring services remain community-driven and equitable. Her career includes advisory roles with government and non-government organisations in Somalia, New Zealand and Australia as well as serving as a Ministerial Advisory Member on Refugee Matters (2000–2002, New Zealand). She also contributed as a Governance Member of the West Metro Alliance (2017–2019, Melbourne), guiding strategic priorities during the transition to aged care and disability reforms. Beyond her professional achievements, Zeinab has been a dedicated volunteer in the Deer Park and Cairnlea communities within Brimbank, reflecting her lifelong commitment to empowering local neighbourhoods.
Finance and HR Team
Mrs. Chamila Fernando - Finance Officer
Chamila Fernando is the Finance Officer at MRNWR, a government-funded nonprofit dedicated to community service. With over 15 years of experience in nonprofit financial management, she oversees budgeting, compliance, and financial planning, working closely with the EO and Management Committee. Chamila specializes in grant administration, regulatory reporting, and strategic resource allocation, ensuring transparency and accountability. She holds a Master of Professional Accounting and a Bachelor of Commerce. Outside work, she enjoys travelling, walking, and hiking with family and friends.
Mrs. Nazlican Kayaoglu - HR Officer
Nazlican has a background in engineering, bringing a diverse perspective to her role by leveraging her technical knowledge to support staff and contribute to the success of the organization. She is also equipped with project management training and knowledge, which enhances her ability to coordinate and implement initiatives effectively. Deeply passionate about human resources, Nazlican is currently furthering her education in HR objectives. She genuinely enjoys her work and is committed to fostering a positive and efficient workplace environment. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Nazlican has been an avid flute player since 2009. What began as a professional pursuit has evolved into a fulfilling hobby. Additionally, she has a strong interest in astronomy and physics, continuously expanding her expertise through courses and staying informed about developments in the physical sciences.
