2016 Refugee Week Expo

As part of our annual celebration to honour the rich diversity of Hume, the Migrant Resource Centre North West Region along with the Hume City Council invite all staff to attend the 2016 Refugee Week Expo.

So what is it all about? Themed Refugee and Asylum Seekers Enrinching our City, the event aims to:

  • Equip newly-arrived community members with available resources and well-informed community and services providers.
  • Provide an opportunity to network, build relationships and partnerships
  • Ensure community issues are being heard.

Social development is pioneering the event in collaboration with the Multicultural Action Plan (MAP) Working Group. Departments across Council are getting involved, with stall being run by Sustainable Enviroment, Aged Services and Public Health, Learning Community and the Early Years Hub.

Pop in anytime between 9am and 2.30pm, Monday June 20 at Hume Global Learning Centre, Broadmeadows. We are also looking for volunteers to help in any way. Contact Amanda Vedna, Community Development Officer - Southern on 9205 2377.
